Mid-Level

WordPress Developer

Orange Element is in need of a WordPress developer. The ideal candidate must be comfortable collaborating with a small team of fellow creatives to support client site builds for a wide range of businesses. You should be motivated to produce innovative, smart websites and digital WordPress products for every project.

Responsibilities

Developer will be responsible for collaborating with designers, writers, and strategists to produce organized and functional WordPress sites. Developer must be comfortable presenting to clients, solving problems and adjusting to moving schedules and project scopes. Candidate must be motivated to improve skills, learn new technology, and keep up with WordPress releases while bringing innovative ideas to each project.


Necessary Skills and Qualifications

Developer must be:

Requirements:

  • WordPress experience
  • Skilled at PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with custom layouts (not just templates) and use of custom fields
  • Understand UX, UI and responsive design
  • Examples of sites that demonstrate well-organized, standard-compliant code

Winter

Graphic Design Intern

Our interns have regular exposure to our creative staff generating high level work, as well as opportunities to attend client meetings, press checks and workshops. As OE's Winter Graphic Design Intern, you will support the design team in the development and execution of project types including web, print, digital, brand design, and other creative assets for a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Create original design work for client and OE projects
  • Handle edits, revisions, quality assurance and preparing of final files
  • Provide general support to staff designers
  • Develop creative content for websites, social, print collateral, event signage and promotional items
  • Generate out-of-the-box creative ideas
  • Show up each day on time as a strong part of our team

Necessary Skills and Qualifications

  • Junior or senior level student
  • Proficient with Mac platform
  • Fluent in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of web design standards and practices
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Template creation in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Research and problem solving abilities
  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating a strong and unique creative vision
  • Understanding of branding with the ability to translate client needs into strong designs
  • Strong typography skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Impeccable file structure and storage
  • Energetic team player with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while being time efficient

We offer a paid internship that is flexible with school schedules with hopes that you can afford to spend 2-3 consecutive days (partial or full days) a week with us here at the office. Applicant must be able to commit to a minimum of 14 hours per week. Duration is typically 3 months with the potential to extend.

For graduating seniors, the opportunity may extend itself into a full-time position if you are a good fit, team player and hungry to work on a wide range of projects with a positive attitude.
